Art and island makers.

The light on Skye has inspired painters and makers for generations, and you'll find their work all over the island. There are small galleries in houses and old buildings, where the artist is often the one who greets you, and walls hung with paintings of the same hills and shores you've been walking all week. Buying something here is a lovely way to take a piece of the island home with you. Many open on their own hours, especially out of season, so it's worth checking ahead.
