At only two miles long, Muck is an island that can be easily explored in its entirety. It is best thought of in terms of its main settlement and its beautiful natural features.

Port Mòr The main settlement and heart of the island is Port Mòr, which means 'Great Harbour' in Gaelic. This is where the ferry arrives and where you will find the majority of the island's houses, the community hall, and the Craft Shop & Tea Room. It is a picturesque and peaceful harbour, a lovely place to watch the fishing boats and get a feel for the rhythm of island life.

Gallanach A walk of about a mile across the island from Port Mòr leads you to the beautiful Gallanach Bay. This sweeping, west-facing bay has pristine white sands and crystal-clear turquoise water, offering stunning views out towards the islands of Rùm and Eigg. It is a perfect spot for a picnic, a paddle, and for simply sitting and absorbing the immense peace of the island.

Beinn Airein The island's highest point is Beinn Airein, which rises to a modest 137 metres. It is a gentle walk to the summit. Despite its low elevation, the view from the top takes in the other Small Isles, the Skye Cuillin and the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It is the best place to appreciate Muck’s position among its neighbouring islands.
