Taverns of the Old Town.

Some of Edinburgh's pubs are as old as its streets. There's an inn in Duddingston village that claims a history back to 1360, a tavern in the old Canongate Tolbooth, and a Royal Mile pub named after a famous double-living councillor. Further out, you'll find a family-run inn near Rosslyn Chapel and harbourside pubs on the coast. Most serve food and real ale. Expect them to be busy in summer.
