Argyll and Bute
Island museums and a smiddy.
Argyll and Bute's museums are small and full of local pride. On Bute, the island's own museum sits by the castle in Rothesay, and on Lismore a Gaelic heritage centre has a thatched cottage and a lovely café. Above Oban, the MacDougalls' castle has a museum of clan life, and at Strachur four generations worked the village smiddy. Many are run by volunteers, so check opening days before you set off.
You are up to date.
That is everything for today. Tomorrow's first posts go up in the morning. Or have the best of it in your inbox each morning in the Daily.
