Vegetarians and vegans eat well in Aberdeenshire, especially in Aberdeen. There's a warm, homely café cooking entirely without meat, with a little sister hut on the beach esplanade, and a lively sandwich café in the Merchant Quarter with plenty of plant-based choices. Out in Inverurie, a coffee house in a white cottage has good meat-free food too. Elsewhere, most cafés and many restaurants now have a proper vegetarian dish or two, rather than an afterthought. Ask about the specials, which change with the seasons.
