Dozens of new wild habitats are set to be created across Glasgow to support butterflies, moths and other pollinators. The two-year, £250,000 project, led by Butterfly Conservation in partnership with Glasgow City Council, aims to establish 40 wildlife spaces in parks, schools and community hubs.
Backed by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the initiative will also recruit volunteers and distribute wildflower seed packs to encourage local action.
Organisers hope the scheme will help reverse the decline in butterflies and moths and bring more Glaswegians closer to nature in the city’s green spaces.
