Showa Coffee House, a small Japanese bakery once tucked away in Shetland, has made the move south to Glasgow’s Shawlands. The owners, originally drawn to Shetland’s calm pace of life, built a loyal following with their soft milk bread, matcha croissants, and Japanese-inspired cakes.

There’s already been a steady stream of customers curious about the move and keen to try something different from the usual city bakes. Early favourites include the yuzu loaf and the miso caramel bun.
