Shetland Wool Week takes place from Sunday the 28th of September to Saturday the 4th of October 2025, with events held in Lerwick, Unst and smaller halls across the isles. The week centres on local wool and textile practices, with classes in Fair Isle, lace knitting, spinning, weaving and natural dyeing. Exhibitions, open studios and talks feature throughout the programme. This year’s theme, “Shetland Ways,” highlights the diversity and continuity of traditional techniques. The Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers serves as 2025 patron, releasing the official hat pattern ahead of the event. Workshop spaces are limited, but public events run daily.
