Edinburgh's autumn gets a taste of Spain and Latin America as the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival returns for its 13th year.

The Royal Deeside Railway runs along the banks of the Dee from Milton of Crathes, near Banchory, and it has three more Sundays before the Santa trains begin at the end of November. On 11 October there's a cream tea special, and on 18 and 25 October the trains are hauled by steam. Trains leave Milton of Crathes every hour from 11am to 4pm, and you can just turn up, though cream teas and the steam driving tasters need booking ahead. On all three Sundays it is Kids for a Quid: a child rides for £1, and there is no need to book. The station is at Milton of Crathes, Banchory, AB31 5QH.
