An Fenten
Mull and Cornwall have more in common than you might think, and An Fenten sets out to show it.
Edinburgh's autumn gets a taste of Spain and Latin America as the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival returns for its 13th year. There's drama, comedy, horror, documentary and music on screen, with new voices and established filmmakers from across the Spanish-speaking world, and the festival opens with A World for Julius. Some screenings come with guests and events alongside, so it's a good one to follow through the month. Once the Edinburgh run is over, the festival goes on tour to Stirling, Tranent, Glasgow and Ayr. It runs in Edinburgh from 1 to 19 October, and the full programme and tickets are on the festival's website.

The Citizens Theatre has stood in the Gorbals since 1878, and after a long rebuild you can now go behind the scenes on one of its heritage tours.

Every October the pines of Faskally Wood, a mile or so out of Pitlochry, are lit and scored for a month, and people walk through them after dark.
