This single-day event takes place on the first Saturday in August at The Eilan, south of Newtonmore. The schedule begins around 11:00 with heavyweights and solo piping, followed by pipe band competitions, Highland dancing and the Creag Dhubh hill race in the afternoon. A Clan Macpherson march through the village adds a ceremonial element. Visitors can watch shinty matches and browse craft and food stalls. Entry is £10 for adults, £5 for children and seniors, with a family ticket available. Parking is free next to the arena. Some wheelchair access and designated viewing areas are provided. The event proceeds in most weather conditions; last entries usually before midday.
