Introduction
A ruined castle and mansion near New Galloway, Kenmure Castle features a 16th-century tower house as well as an attic, extra wing and courtyard that appeared over the 18th and 19th centuries. The castle has exchanged hands many times over the years, acting as a hotel right up to the 1950s, where it was abandoned.
