Haltadans Stone Circle

Thirty-eight stones, and two in the middle

Welcome

Thirty-eight stones in a ring, with two set upright at the centre.

Nothing here is on the scale of Orkney, and that is part of its appeal: it is a small, quiet thing on open ground.

Finding it is the difficulty. The usual way is from the disused island airstrip, following the track from there. Allow more time than the distance suggests.
