Held from Thursday the 28th to Saturday the 30th of August 2025, the Cowal Highland Gathering brings together a full programme of traditional competition and entertainment in the coastal town of Dunoon. Recognised as the world’s largest Highland Games, it features top pipe bands, world championship Highland dancing, heavy athletic events including caber tossing and stone lifting, as well as backhold wrestling, solo piping, and hill races. Alongside the competitive elements, visitors can enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere with funfair attractions, stalls, and evening live music. The gathering takes place in Dunoon Stadium, set against the backdrop of Cowal’s wooded hills and scenic seafront.
