An Fenten
Mull and Cornwall have more in common than you might think, and An Fenten sets out to show it.
Taigh Chearsabhagh in Lochmaddy has given both of its galleries this winter to Aghaidh Ris An Achadh, Facing The Field, a show about what happens to a township when the people leave. Fraser MacBeath, an audiovisual artist and field recordist from Lewis, has built it from salvaged building materials, fragments of community archive film and recordings made in the islands, with sound that moves around you as you walk through. It is about memory and change in the Outer Hebrides, and it rewards a slow visit. Entry is free, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, until 24 December, and there is a café in the building.

The Citizens Theatre has stood in the Gorbals since 1878, and after a long rebuild you can now go behind the scenes on one of its heritage tours.

Every October the pines of Faskally Wood, a mile or so out of Pitlochry, are lit and scored for a month, and people walk through them after dark.
