Bullough Mausoleum
The Bullough Mausoleum is a Greek temple on a Hebridean moor.
It stands above Harris Bay on Rum, on the far side of the island from the ferry. All you can see around it is the sea, the beach and the Rum Cuillin behind. Sir George Bullough had it built in sandstone around 1900 for his father, the Lancashire cotton magnate who bought the island. George and his wife lie there too, in three sarcophagi under the open colonnade. It's eight miles of estate track from Kinloch on foot or by bike, and the same back. Make a day of it and bring food, because there's nothing at Harris but the view.
Nothing of ours in this part of the map.
