Fife Zoo
Fife Zoo is in the countryside by Ladybank, with its own free car park. It opens every day from 10am to 4pm, through the winter too. From Madagascar come its ring-tailed, red-bellied and crowned lemurs and the fossa, the island's largest predator. From Africa come Grévy's zebras, meerkats, De Brazza's monkeys and the crested porcupine. Wild red squirrels live on the site too. In winter many of the animals choose to be indoors, and there are viewing areas to see them from. The zoo is fairly flat, and its paths suit wheelchairs and pushchairs, with outdoor play and a picnic area. The Africafe at the front serves coffee, sandwiches, hot snacks and handmade cakes. It has its own door, so dogs, which can't go into the zoo, are welcome there.
If it rains
The café is under a roof, but the paths between the animals are outdoors, so bring waterproofs.
