Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival
Edinburgh's autumn gets a taste of Spain and Latin America as the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival returns for its 13th year.
Haddo House is a grand setting for an afternoon talk, and on Saturday 10 October the novelist Sarah Dunant is in its library to bring Isabella d'Este to life. Isabella was the Marchesa of Mantua, a great patron of Renaissance art who ran the state while her husband was away at war, and she left some 33,000 letters behind her. Sarah wrote her novel The Marchesa from them, and her talk is richly illustrated. Before it begins, students from the Aberdeen City and North East Scotland Music Schools play a short recital of music from the period. It runs from 2.30pm to 4pm, and tickets start at £5.35 through Haddo Arts.
