Harbour Towns Worth a Wander

A harbour town is a lovely place to spend an afternoon, watching the boats come in, walking the pier and finding a pub at the end of it. From working fishing ports to quiet old quays, these are the harbours worth the wander.

A harbour town is a lovely place to spend an afternoon, with boats coming and going, gulls on the pier, a smokehouse somewhere nearby, and a pub at the end of the quay where the fishermen used to drink. Some still land a catch every morning and some haven't for a century, and both make for a very good wander.

We've rounded up our favourite harbours across Scotland, from busy working ports to quiet old quays where the boats are mostly for pleasure now.
