Loch Lomond, Glencoe and Loch Ness in a day from Glasgow, an hour shorter than the same day from Edinburgh.

Glasgow is closer to the Highlands than Edinburgh, so this is the easier way to see Glencoe and Loch Ness in a single day. The coach leaves at 8am and stops first on the shore of Loch Lomond at Inveruglas, then crosses Rannoch Moor to Glencoe for photographs. Lunch is in Fort William, and the afternoon is at Fort Augustus, where the Caledonian Canal meets Loch Ness and you can take a cruise on the loch. The way home is through Pitlochry, and you're back in Glasgow at about 7.30pm. It's still a long day with a lot of driving, but the mountains are the reason to go and you see plenty of them.
