Over the Bealach na Bà to Applecross, the wildest day out from Inverness.

This is the tour for people who want empty mountains and sea lochs rather than famous names. From Inverness you cross to the west coast at Lochcarron, then climb the Bealach na Bà, one of the steepest roads in Britain. It twists up to over two thousand feet before dropping down to the village of Applecross, with its views across to Skye. The way back follows the coast to Shieldaig and through Torridon, past some of the oldest mountains in the country, to Kinlochewe. It runs on Tuesdays and Saturdays from April to September in a small group of up to 19, and it's back at 6.30pm.
