Ross and Cromarty
Tours on the Dornoch Firth shore.
The distillery tours here sit on the south shore of the Dornoch Firth, close to Tain. At Edderton, whisky has been made since 1790, and the tour follows the whole process in buildings of warm pink-grey stone before ending with a tasting. Just outside Tain, where the A9 sweeps down to the water, tours show off stills over twenty-six feet tall, the height that lets only the lightest vapours rise. The shop and visitor centre there are open to all, tour or no tour. Book ahead, and bring a driver for the tasting.
You are up to date.
That is everything for today. Tomorrow's first posts go up in the morning. Or have the best of it in your inbox each morning in the Daily.
