Perth is a compact city, making it wonderfully easy to explore. Its character is defined by its elegant centre and the magnificent green spaces and waterways that frame it.
The City Centre The heart of Perth is a handsome, walkable grid of streets lined with a mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture. This is the main hub for shopping and dining, with a mix of independent boutiques and high-street names. At its centre stands St. John’s Kirk, the city’s oldest building, a quiet reminder of Perth's medieval origins amongst the gentle bustle of modern life. The recently redeveloped Perth Museum provides a new cultural anchor for the city centre.
The Riverfront & The Inches Perth’s identity is intrinsically linked to the River Tay. The river is flanked by two huge, open parks known as the North and South Inches, which were gifted to the city by the Crown. Both have paths for a gentle stroll, with views of the river and the city skyline. The elegant Georgian terraces that overlook the North Inch are among the most desirable addresses in the city.
Scone Located just two miles from the city centre, Scone is a small village with a colossal history. It is dominated by Scone Palace, the magnificent stately home and historic crowning place of Scottish kings. The village itself was moved in the early 19th century to improve the palace grounds.
