Otters, e-bikes and a Ben Nevis dram.

Some of Lochaber's best days out come with someone who knows the ground. On Knoydart, the community's own rangers lead a walk through the woods around Inverie, sharing the peninsula's plants, animals and history. They also take small groups out to watch otters and seals. In the same village you can hire an electric mountain bike, with route guides to the beach at Sandaig, the Folach falls and the glen. Back on the mainland, the distillery at Lochy Bridge in Fort William shows how its whisky is made with water off Ben Nevis. Book the Knoydart trips before you take the boat across.
