Loch Lomond
Fish suppers and an old drovers' inn.
Eating out here means a fish supper by the loch or a hearty meal in an old inn. In Luss, the estate's chip shop fries haddock in Loch Lomond beer batter and cooks Scottish scallops and mussels, with a terrace a few steps from the water. Just north of the head of the loch, the drovers' inn at Inverarnan opened in 1705, and Rob Roy is said to have stayed. A stuffed grizzly bear stands in its hall, and it sits right on the West Highland Way. On a fine evening, take your fish supper down to the beach at Luss.
