Falls in gorges and over cliffs.

Rain is never far away on Skye, and the upside is the waterfalls. Some drop straight off the cliffs into the sea, while others tumble through wooded gorges or rocky ravines just a few minutes' walk from the road. They're at their very best a day or two after heavy rain, when the water is loud and white, and most are easy to fit into a drive between villages or a visit to a distillery. Take a jacket for the spray, and keep well back from the edges, where the ground can be slippery.
