Getting around Visitors are not permitted to bring cars to Canna. This is an island to be explored on foot. The main track running from east to west is easy to follow, and the island’s small size makes it manageable for most walkers. A bicycle can also be a good way to explore, but visitors must bring their own on the ferry as there are no hire facilities on the island.
Public Transport There is no public transport on Canna. The island is entirely reliant on walking as the means of getting around. The walk from the pier to the western end of the island is a beautiful and rewarding journey of a few miles.
Planning & Practicalities When visiting Canna, it is important to be prepared. The weather can be very changeable, so waterproof clothing and sturdy walking boots are essential. There is one café and one small shop, so it's wise to bring any specific supplies you might need. The mobile phone signal is virtually non-existent across most of the island. Finally, the summer months can bring midges; a good repellent and a head net are strongly recommended to ensure you can fully enjoy the long summer evenings.
Electric Vehicle Charging points As visitors cannot bring cars to the island, there is no public EV charging infrastructure.
