Angus makes its spirits from its own fields and its own long history. On a family farm by Inverkeilor, near the sands of Lunan Bay, a distillery turns crops grown on the estate into vodka, gin and whisky, with tours and a café-bar. In Brechin, a distillery that has made whisky since 1825 marked its two hundredth year with a visitor centre, tastings, a café and a whisky bar. Each is an easy drive from the coast road between Arbroath and Montrose. Book tours ahead, and settle who is driving before the tasting.
