The modern RRS Discovery, a 21st-century oceanographic vessel, has returned to Dundee to mark the centenary of its predecessor’s designation as the first Royal Research Ship.

This visit is part of a city-wide celebration, with free exhibitions, behind-the-scenes tours and talks at Discovery Point.

Dundee Heritage Trust is progressing with a major conservation and redevelopment project for the historic RRS Discovery, including structural repairs, new exhibitions and a visitor restaurant, so more people can learn about Scotland’s polar exploration.
