Dundee has been highlighted by an international media outlet as Scotland’s most unexpected cultural city escape. It praised how far the city has come and its links abroad, including its twinning with Nablus in Palestine since 1980.

This relationship has seen projects such as restoring medical centres and replanting olive groves. The Thread Memory: Embroidery from Palestine exhibition at V&A Dundee marks the 45th anniversary of the twinning and showcases historic dresses, jewellery, and contemporary artworks.

Dundee also has the RRS Discovery, McManus Galleries, Dundee Contemporary Arts and street art trails.
