Waverley makes a return to Dundee for the first time in over 40 years

The paddle steamer Waverley made a historic return to Dundee on 27 August 2025, marking its first visit to the city in over 40 years. The world's last seagoing paddle steamer came into the Port of Dundee on her 'northabouts' voyage around Scotland. Crowds gathered along the River Tay to watch, among them Dundonians who remembered her earlier visits.
The domed brick drum on the north bank of the Clyde, opposite the Radisson RED at the SEC campus, is to open again in May 2027 as The Rotunda and Roundhouse.
