NatureScot has approved beaver releases at two sites in the River Beauly catchment. Forestry and Land Scotland will release up to four families at Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, and Abriachan Forest Trust will release two families on its land.

Beavers create habitats rich in wildlife, moderate water flows and improve water quality. Long-term monitoring and mitigation will manage any impacts over the next decade.

A Beauly Beaver Mitigation and Monitoring Group will bring together the people and groups involved, to support the local community.
