Next month, Dundee will welcome the modern research vessel RRS Discovery, arriving 13–14 September to mark 100 years since the original ship was granted Royal Research Ship status. The visit links past and present, with the public invited aboard to see the working bridge, laboratories and crew spaces of today’s vessel. The original 1901 Discovery, berthed in the city, will also open its decks free of charge from 12–16 September.
