Three Scottish cinemas named in Time Out's 100 best in the world

Three Scottish cinemas have been recognised among Time Out’s 100 best cinemas in the world. The Glasgow Film Theatre ranked 59th, while Edinburgh’s historic Cameo Picturehouse, operating for more than a century, placed 77th.

Also included was the Cromarty Community Cinema on the Black Isle, ranked 95th, a cosy 35-seat venue created by a local film society in 2020.

The list celebrates cinemas that matter to their communities and still draw audiences, despite streaming and rising costs.
