Last year’s Tiree Music Festival contributed £1.6 million to the Hebridean island’s economy, marking the highest figure in the event’s 15-year history. The economic impact assessment by MKA Economics shows the festival has generated a total of £11 million since 2010.

Deliberately small as festivals go, it still more than triples Tiree’s population of around 650, and its bill mixes traditional and contemporary music. Past performers include Julie Fowlis, Sandi Thom, Toploader, and The Fratellis.

The 15th anniversary event is set for 10–12 July, with the line-up yet to be announced.
