Scotland’s iconic West Highland Line, often called one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys, will benefit from a £15 million investment aimed at improving resilience, safety and reliability.

The upgrade will include renewing approximately 10 km of track and 9,100 sleepers, replacing a railway bridge near Corrour, upgrading five culverts for drainage and refurbishing the Feith footbridge.

The work is scheduled to begin in October and will involve a temporary closure of the line between Crianlarich and Fort William for nine days in November 2025.
