Tonight’s full moon, known as the “Beaver Supermoon”, is one of the brightest of 2025 and will be visible from around 1.19pm. A supermoon happens when the moon is at its closest point to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter. The name “Beaver Moon” comes from the tradition of North American beavers preparing their dams for winter in November. Skies across much of the UK are expected to be cloudy, so look for it wherever the cloud breaks. If you’re planning fireworks later, it could be worth looking up a little earlier.
