Shetland Islands

Old Haa Museum and Tearoom

Welcome

The Old Haa at Burravoe is the oldest building on Yell, a merchant's house of 1672 with crow-stepped gables and thick walls.

Inside is the island's museum: croft tools, fiddles, shipwreck relics, the papers of the Yell folk who left and the ones who stayed, and a room given to the wildlife artist Bobby Tulloch, who was from here. There is a tearoom upstairs with home bakes, and a garden behind. It is run by volunteers and open from early April to early October, so check before a long drive up the island.
