Machir Bay

Machir Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches on Islay and well worth a visit. This beach is at Kilchoman and is often referred to as Kilchoman beach. To find it drive towards Bruichladdich from Bridgend but about a mile before Bruichladdich take the turning to Kilchoman. After four miles keep right towards the dunes and park. Cross the little bridge and you are on the beach. This is a great beach for a relaxing walk on lovely sand or for sitting for a while to take in the view. Don’t be tempted to go for a swim though as the currents are strong here.
