The Enchanted Forest – Light and Music in Faskally Wood
A few hours.
The route
Every autumn the Enchanted Forest fills Faskally Wood, just outside Pitlochry, with light and music after dark, and 2026 is its 25th year.
A shuttle bus takes you from the middle of Pitlochry into the wood, where a path loops past the loch and through the trees, lit up and set to music.

If you are staying over: here are ours nearest where the day starts and ends.
The nearest of ours is Charlottefield, 4 miles away. Sleeps 4.
Book The Enchanted Forest's tickets online before travelling: it runs from 8 October to 8 November 2026, most nights sell out, and everyone on the shuttle bus needs a ticket, babies included.
The day
Faskally Wood
A shuttle bus at dusk, a walk round the lit-up wood and the loch, something hot from one of the stalls, and the bus back.
About two and a half hours

The Enchanted Forest
The Enchanted Forest is a sound and light show along a path through Faskally Wood, just outside Pitlochry, from Thursday 8 October to Sunday 8 November 2026. There's no parking at the wood. Everyone goes by shuttle bus from the departures point at Fishers Hotel on Atholl Road, in the middle of Pitlochry, and the ten-minute ride is in the ticket. The nearest car parks are the public ones on Atholl Road and Rie-achan Road, metered before 6pm, and there are about 250 spaces at the Festival Theatre, 15 minutes' walk away over the suspension bridge: bring a torch for that path. Each ticket gives a 15 to 20 minute window to board, and the first departures each night are timed for dusk. The circuit is about 1.8km, and most people take an hour to an hour and a half. The site closes at 10.30pm, and the last buses back leave between 10.30pm and 10.45pm. In the wood there are toilets with baby changing and three places for hot food and drinks. A buggy can come if it folds for the bus, but the paths don't suit very big ones. Only assistance dogs can come.
If it rains
It's outdoors and goes ahead in rain: wear waterproofs and boots. Only weather warnings stop it, and the organisers post the day's forecast on their site.
