Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival
Edinburgh's autumn gets a taste of Spain and Latin America as the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival returns for its 13th year.

For a long weekend in October the Western Isles Hotel in Tobermory fills with writers, readers and good food. This year you can hear Alexander McCall Smith at a festival dinner, Gordon Buchanan on his book In the Hide, and Alistair Moffat on his new history of the Highlands and Islands. Sue Stuart-Smith, Alex Gray and Colin MacIntyre are on the bill too. The festival runs from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October, with the author talks on the Friday and Saturday. Tickets are sold event by event, and the hotel has book festival rates for the weekend.
