Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival
Edinburgh's autumn gets a taste of Spain and Latin America as the Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival returns for its 13th year.

Tiree sits low and flat out in the Atlantic, west of Mull, and its steady wind has brought windsurfers to the island since the eighties. The Tiree Wave Classic is the oldest professional windsurfing event in the world, and it follows the forecast from beach to beach, Balephuil one day and Gott Bay the next, so tracking it down is all part of the fun.
This year it runs from 10 to 16 October, and there's nothing to book: just find a spot on the machair and watch. Tiree is an hour's flight from Glasgow or four hours by ferry from Oban, so stay a few days and enjoy the island too.
