An Fenten
Mull and Cornwall have more in common than you might think, and An Fenten sets out to show it.
Brodick has a new place to eat and drink right at the pier. Picnic is a deli-café-bar built around food and drink made on Arran, from the island's cheese and oatcakes to its whisky, beer and tablet. For the Arran Festival of Food and Drink it is launching new wine and cocktail menus, with snacks to go with them, small tasters to try and plenty of chat about the island's food. It runs from 23 October to 1 November at Picnic on The Pier, Brodick. Collect four stamps on your Festival Passport sticker around the festival and you are entered into a free draw for a hamper of Arran goodies and whisky.

The Citizens Theatre has stood in the Gorbals since 1878, and after a long rebuild you can now go behind the scenes on one of its heritage tours.

Every October the pines of Faskally Wood, a mile or so out of Pitlochry, are lit and scored for a month, and people walk through them after dark.
