Opera On Your Doorstep: Hansel & Gretel

3 November · Ross and Cromarty

3November

Scottish Opera is on the road this autumn with a small, touring Hansel and Gretel, and Ullapool is one of its stops. Humperdinck's fairy tale is sung in English by a cast of five, with a piano in place of the orchestra, so it suits a first opera as much as a seasoned ear, and the witch's gingerbread house never loses its pull on a dark November night. It comes to the Macphail Theatre on Tuesday 3 November at 7pm. The performance runs about two hours, with a 20-minute interval. Tickets are through Scottish Opera's box office on 0141 248 4567.
