Sculpture woods and a tolbooth gallery.
Art around Edinburgh comes in very different sizes. Just west of the city, a hundred acres of meadow and woodland make a sculpture park. You arrive through great grassy landforms by Charles Jencks, curving round four lakes, and paths lead on through the trees to works by leading artists. There's a studio where you can make something of your own, and a café painted inside with a mural. On Dunbar's High Street, the old tolbooth keeps a small gallery with changing exhibitions on art and the town. Wear good shoes for the sculpture park, as the paths cross meadow and woodland.
