Gelato and tablet on the Largs front.

Largs has had an Italian accent since 1935, when an art deco café opened on the front. Its ice cream is made in the house, in flavours from double cream vanilla to Scottish tablet, and a window looks into the ice cream factory. There are Italian pastries baked on site, sundaes and the café's own coffee, with the Clyde outside the windows. Just outside Ayr, a family dairy farm sells fresh milk and ice cream from machines in the yard that never close, and its café makes milkshakes with its own milk. Come on a sunny afternoon and take your cone along the promenade.
