Welcome

On the High Street in Melrose, Provender is a family-run restaurant that has earned a Michelin Bib for its cooking.

The style is modern British, well made and full of flavour, and the kitchen leans on the best of the Borders: vegetables from the Bowland Estate, fish from David Lowrie and game from Castle Game.

The dining room is bright and relaxed. As well as the full menu there is an express menu for a quicker meal and a children's menu, with a wine list and a drinks list to match. It suits a long lunch after a morning at the abbey as well as a dinner out.

Provender opens for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, and booking ahead is wise, particularly at weekends.
