Nàdair

Add to List

Introduction

Nàdair is a converted barn for six on the outskirts of Kirriemuir, the Angus town where J.M. Barrie was born in 1860. Owners Kate and Paul have done the interiors properly. Calm, contemporary, with antique touches and the odd bit of colour, like the third bedroom panelled in deep terracotta. The ground floor is open-plan, with underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove in the corner and a farmhouse kitchen built for cooking. The master bedroom sits on the ground floor too, behind a sliding barn door, with a four-poster king bed.

Outside there's a decked patio, a lounge set and a firepit with a chimenea for when the evening turns cold. The garden is enclosed, so dogs can roam.

Loch of Lintrathen is five minutes away for wild swimming. Glamis Castle, where the Queen Mother grew up, is a short drive. Glenshee and the Cairngorms are within reach for bigger days.
