Welcome

At Long Island Retreats & Larder on South Uist, you spend time on a working croft with the people who run it.

DJ and Lindsay are a crofting couple, and DJ is a sixth-generation crofter. Their croft sits in the stunning surrounds of Loch Skipport. They run tours of the croft and the island that take in its heritage. Tours can include Shetland ponies, working sheepdog demonstrations, shearing and wool, or field-to-fork experiences. They're also building up the Larder, with produce straight from the croft, including homebred lamb and beef.
