Knockendarroch is a Victorian house on the hill above Pitlochry, and the dining room looks down over the town to the Tummel.
The menu is short and seasonal, with Perthshire game and fish. It's an adults-only hotel with twelve rooms and one sitting at dinner, so it stays calm and quiet. You can come up for the evening even if you're staying elsewhere, but book ahead, as the room fills with residents first. Pitlochry's theatre is a walk down through the woods, though the last climb back up is steep.
